Sharp image. Bright at night. Some glare from the infrared LEDs but a bargain. I have been experimenting with a few low-end security cameras. This is the most expensive camera I have tried, and also the best. It has a very sharp image during the day, and is also surprisingly sharp at night. At night it suffers some from glare on the lens caused by the numerous infrared LEDs. But still, the LEDs provide a lot of illumination which overall is a good thing. This camera is definitely a step up from the SVAT CV31 Hi-Res Outdoor CCD camera. It is both significantly sharper during the day, and significantly brighter at night. Also, it does not suffer from the pinkish cast I sometimes see in the SVAT image during the day. The Q-See is also a more compact design and feels more solid overall. I am especially amazed by the bright color images this camera provides just before dark and just after first light. After dark, the camera switches to a black and white image. One minor gripe about this camera is that the mounting hardware can make it hard to hang the camera from the eves or the rafters in a manner that is less obtrusive. I figured out an improvised solution after some experimentation, but it was not as easy or quick as I would have liked. I have also tried various X-10 cameras and those really compare poorly to this camera. Unless you are really strapped for cash, go with this camera over other cheaper cameras and you will probably not be disappointed.

Its a good deal for the money, no doubtOk, I just picked this up recently from amazon and used it with a KPC-EX230HL camera and it works really well. Both that camera and this DVR card are better than expected. Yes, the DVR software is a bit 'basic', but not buggy ... and works out of the box and does all that is needed. It would be nice if the motion sensing logic was adjustable, but it works well and using the mpeg4 format ... the size of the recorded videos are very small ... so it record a lot a not consume so much hard disk. I'm running on only 20GB of space (older computer), but it seems like plenty. This is a lot of capability for the money, runs on slower computers and doesn't seem to load the system down much if at all. Just remember the 30fps is shared between all cameras, so if you want 30fps for all cameras, get one of these cards 'per camera'. Otherwise, just realize the 30fps is shared and you'll be happy. Please get a good camera to go with it, not the Q-See cameras or other cheapo camera. Get a .003 lux camera if you want decent low-light pictures.

Tons of issues - JUNKOK, this is not that great of a product, really. It is suppose to be a color camera, well guess what? It distorts all colors, reds look baby blue, black looks blue and grey looks blue, the only item that it seems to display the colors correctly for is the TV! The range is really poor and both audio and video are staticy, even with the circuit breaker for the whole house turned off. Once you turn the power on, forget it, you can not use this in a modern house. On certain channels it prevented my laptop from finding the wireless network, once I turned it on to a different channel, it blocked my wireless video feed between TVs. You really need to hardwire the camera, otherwise the nightvision is not going to have enough power for very long..The portable unit itself seems real cheap and I can't foresee this lasting for very long, shopping for a new one now, if you want it for a baby monitoring in a big house with modern wireless network equipments, steer away..
