Good product, but has its limitationsMy wife got this for me as a Christmas gift. At first, I was skeptical--I had never heard of a portable XM unit (although it made total sense) and wasn't thrilled about the idea of paying for radio.
That said, I really like the Inno. It's compact--almost exactly the size of my candy bar cellphone. The sound is great. Reception will of course vary by location, but my house doesn't have an exposed southern window and still I'm getting maximum bars through a south wall on the home unit. The menu is quick to figure out and it's easy to manage recordings. The option of listening live vs. recording XM content is cool.
The major limitations have been discussed already, but I'll reiterate--if you want to do anything besides listen from the home unit through your stereo or listen through headphones on the go, be prepared to pay a significant amount extra for an additional home unit or a car adapter. The car adapter is ridiculously complicated, requiring hours of installation time and removal of interior panels in the car, etc. Why Pioneer would do it this way is beyond me.
The other limitation is a minor one, but from what I can tell there's no way to connect this unit to a home stereo through a line-in. It has to be through RCA cables. This doesn't make any sense to me, but that's seemingly the way it is. If I'm wrong on this, please let me know commentators.
Last thing is that I'm officially a XM/Sirius convert. For fifty cents a day, it's tough to beat all the music programming plus sports that the two satellite nets provide. Now that they're joined and you can get everything in one package, it's awesome. Read more...

Great boombox, many options/featuresOrdered this earlier this week, at first I received an XMAS100 boombox. Amazon was quick to overnight me the correct XMBB1 though once I reported the error. This gave me the opportunity to check out both the XMAS100 and the XMBB1.
I have the Delphi XpressRC headunit to be using with this boombox.
The quick and the short is I prefer the XMBB1, here's why. It's antenna has a neat little setup so it can be sleekly mounted on the rear of the unit flush with the surface, or you can extend it the full 21 feet to put it near a window etc. The XMAS100 only has the plug and no sleek interface to store it inside/on the unit, so the XMAS100 in my mind is for more of a permanent setup location. Also the XMBB1 runs off 8 C batteries, or the plug, whereas the XMAS100 only runs off the plug. These two features make the XMBB1 very portable, can take it to the beach, park etc and its all compact with its antenna and running off batteries. The XMAS100 does have a remote, but many of the XM headunits you'll be attaching to this come with their own remotes anyways. The XMAS100 does look more sophisticated with its brushed aluminum finish, but the XMBB1 isn't too bad either. Also the price of the XMBB1 is 33% cheaper than the XMAS100 right now. They both have AUX in for connecting another audio source if you wish. The sound on the XMBB1 is great, as is the XMAS100, can hear the base and its very clear. Hope this helps you decide. horrible audio qualityThe features and size of this unit had me really excited. However, all the features in the world do no good if the sound is so bad that you'll never use it. I'm NOT talking about reception here- i'm speaking strictly of the quality of the sound when receiving the highest signal reception. It's not even stereo quality. When i first put the earbuds in and listened i first thought it was just the channel, nope- all channels. Ok, so it must be the settings- went through all the EQ options and some were better than others but none acceptable. Tried my $50 sony earbuds- no better. It was somewhat better when docked and routed through the home stereo and speakers but not much. I really don't see how they could think people will pay that price for something that sounds so poorly. And i'm not an audiophile. Until just a few weeks ago i've survived the last 12 years w/ a cheap aiwa glorified ghetto blaster as a home system. It's going back.
