| Happily Ever AfterI loved this book. I was happy that Bella and Edward got everything they wanted. For those who did not like it, get over it, it's a fiction novel! They had enough hardship throughout other books. Also they didn't get off easily in this book. They had all that anticipation and preparation for big fight with Volturi. I could not stop reading with anticipation.
I was little bit disappointed how Bella turned into the vampire. Reading the previous novels I thought that it would be romantic, may be on their wedding night. I thought that it would be passionate. But I got over it because Edward was against Bella becoming a vampire from the beginning, he didn't want to do it. He was putting it off. By turning her into vampire to save her life was a logical way to save his soul. By biting her to save her life he was proving that he was good, not evil.
I like that the characters did not have sex before they got married. I love that Edward was the one that resisted the temptation and was putting it off for after the marriage. Also Bella was not certain if she wanted to get married at eighteen. She loved Edward more than anything in the world, but she was not sure about marriage, she wanted to wait.
I missed Bella almost fainting when Edward was kissing her in this book. Their relationship had to move forward. You could sense the build up that was leading to the s.e.x but it was not described. You just knew that it was over the top, wild. I love the way Stephanie hinted it in the book.
I like that Jacob had a happy ending too. I like that mortal enemies can become friends. You can even resolve most complicated problems and feuds if you willing to work on it. It was little bit wired that Jacob was destined for Bella and Edward's daughter. If you look from the other point of view, may be Jacob was never meant to be for Bella. He was always meant to be for her daughter. Read more...

| The Morality of Harry PotterFor me, the stories themselves are not the highlight of this short volume. Indeed, Rowling's wit and attention seem more focused on the commentaries than on the actual stories, which are a little too short, predictable, and simplistic to represent the artistry which Rowling is capable of. Instead, it was the commentaries which made me miss the world of Harry Potter, as it was here where the humor, irony, and subtle complexity of that universe shines through.
As Rowling makes fully clear in the introduction, these tales are about morality, just as "Muggle" fairy tales are. As Rowling notes, the only major difference is that the balance between free will and fate is tilted more toward the former. In these tales, she returns to themes familiar to readers of the Harry Potter series--generosity, self-reliance, love, and the irreversibility of death (and its corollary: the irreplaceable value of life). This insight into the moral universe of the world of Harry Potter is nothing new, but ultimately it is this moral background that gives the Harry Potter series its appeal to readers of all ages. For fans of the series, The Tales of Beedle the Bard will be a solid if not spectacular add to your bookshelf. Read more...

| Offers a new way at looking at the world.I enjoyed and got a lot more out of this book than "Tipping Point", Malcolm Gladwell's first book. First off, it is a very delightful and entertaining read. Gladwell is a master story teller. He creates suspense out of ordinary stories that we have all experienced in life. His technique reminded me of the ones the brothers Heath recommended in their wonderful book, "Made to Stick". "Outliers" consists of numerous well told stories which help Gladwell make the point that often success is wrongly overly attributed to pure talent.
Much of the criticism directed at Gladwell is valid, but readers must remember that the author is tackling a social science - not a hard science like physics or chemistry. Why is Bill Gates so successful? Gladwell offers one theory and of course there may be many more different ways of looking at his success. There is no correct answer as to why some succeed but Gladwell makes a convincing argument for the roles of hard work (he argues that one needs 10,000 hours of practice) and environment. He argues that environment is ultimately a function of luck. For example, you have a much better chance of playing professional hockey in Canada if you are born at the beginning of a given year. Gladwell also inverts the problem by looking at various stories of failure such as why Korean pilots were so much more likely to crash. Gladwell also does great service by taking on cultural and race issues head on, a sensitive topic that many authors may find difficult to write about. For example, he analyzes why Chinese are good in math. Naturally readers are not going to agree (I certainly did not) with everything Gladwell argues, but that does not make the book any worse. He gives readers a lot to think about while being extremely entertaining.
Gladwell is a very talented writer who has clearly put in 10,000 hours practicing his skills and has been lucky to have been given the opportunity to put those skills to use. I highly recommend this brilliant book.

| WOW, Getting Teens to Read!!!The Twilight Saga: Slipcased I ordered it for my daughter for Christmas, she heard about the books from some friends and wanted to read the books before seeing the movie. This in itself was unusual, for my daughter is not what you would call a "reader for fun"! If it must be done for school, she is all over it, but she spend her fun time in front of video games and DVD's. I myself read for fun so I was trilled that she was even interested.
After recieving the books on time, which with the demand, I was impressed by. My daughter was delighted by the gift and she started the first book the very next day. My slow reader, was finished in less than five days with 500 pages. Granted this was over the school holiday, but the point is she was engaged enough to read a book not required for school. She was excited enough to finish and recommend the book to me!
She also started on the second book and is just as engrossed in the story. THIS WAS A TERRIFIC VALUE FOR ME!!! Anything that impoves my daughters since of self,(this gave her a since of acomplishment and enjoyment as well) is of great value to any Mom! Way to go Miss. Meyer with getting teens off the couch and into not one, but four a books!!! Read more...
