Nephew Loved ItI got this item for my 3-year old nephew two years ago at Christmas when the toy first hit the shelves at the toy store. A year later, my sister told me he loved it and still plays with it a whole year later. I also saw reviews listing it as one of the best toys for toddlers in the last 5 years. I want to buy it for my little boy now.
Pirate ShipMy 3 yr. old son loves the ship, so does his 10 yr. old brother.
Fisher-Price Pirate Ship fun!I bought this for my 3-year-old grandson for Christmas. It was so much fun that all of the other grandkids were playing with it, too. They all shared in imaginary pirate stories. This entertained them all for the remainder of the Christmas Eve night without electronics!
Excellent value, Durable, FunI bought this ship as a Christmas gift for my Nephew last Christmas (2008). He was then 4. He loved it then, and I figured it would be something he'd play with for a while and then put up to the shelf.
Much to my surprise when I visited at Thanksgiving (2009), the Pirate ship was still in the living room. He and his brother (6) were still playing with it. They used it to create all sorts of different scenarios, involving both Pirates and regular people. When some other young cousins (boys and girls) came over for Turkey Day, this was the toy that drew them out. They all wanted to raise and lower the sails and sail the ship across the carpet.
None of the pieces were broken, even after a year of play with 2 active young boys (Are there any other kinds?). In fact, all of the moveable parts were still moveable. The boys had lost the cannon balls, but, that is not really the fault of the toy.
It isn't the most educational toy ever, but it seems to spark the imagination of everyone, so for creative play I think this is a winner.
Pirate Fun for our SonsMy sons received the Fisher-Price pirate ship for Christmas and have really enjoyed it.
It is durable and rolls well on hard floors and carpet. I would recommend this toy to other parents based on our experiences.
