A Teen Read

Why I liked it...

This book was much, much better than book two in this saga. It was almost as if a different person stepped in and help write this book. The stories flowed together better. Everything made sense. More complex situations call for more complex solutions that were well carried out for a teen read. I loved the developed realtionship between Bella, Edward and Jacob. Alice is a wonderful, light hearted character that was necessary to make this novel work. The emotional rollar coaster in this book is worth the read. Lots of action, lots of drama. I loved how this book finally tied the stories together from the first two. I look back and think that they should have all been published as one giant novel with a lot of editing from the second saga.

With the love triangle that has developed, I am eagarly anticipating the bitter outcome in the next volume.

Would I read this again? Yes probably.
Why I didn't like it...

Sadly, this book I don't think could totally stand on it's own. If I knew nothing of the other two and picked this one up first to read I would definately be a bit lost in the story and lose some of those important emotional ties between characters. These books are their own world. Like Tolken's Lord of the Rings (a fantasy world so believable to the reader because of well developed characters and backgrounds), this is on the edge of being something big, but it doesn't quite make it. Eclipse is the closest it's come and I look forward to seeing this one tranlated to the silver screen.

Personally I love a happy ending

After reading all of the reviews I thought I would break down and write my own. I came into the Twilight world by chance and like almost everyone who has read Twilight, I too fell in love and finshed the whole series in less then two weeks. I laughed, cried and like some cringed. Despite the cringing, I loved Breaking Dawn, I loved the wedding, I loved their honeymoon, and I loved that Bella and Edward were going to have a "little nudger!!" The whole pregnacy and birth was a little crazy but the whole idea of a girl falling in love with a vampire, then marrying one, then becoming one is a little crazy. I'm glad even vampires can learn that one time is all it takes!! As far as the happy ending, it took Bella three previous books to get her happy ending, the fighting, Edward leaving, more fighting I was glad they got to be together in the end. People wanted a big fight to happen, but if Alice or Carlise or someone else were to have died people would of been mad with that too. As for Jacob imprinting on the "little nudger" I have to say I was happy with that too, happy that Jacob was happy and was finally over Bella. Like I said before some of the things were a little crazy but overall I was happy and I WISH Meyer would take us back there again sometime, we all need a happy ending sometimes!!

NOT JUST FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

I enjoyed reading this book very much. Even though Edward wasn't always there himself, I always had the feeling he wasn't too far away. This is such a great love story. I will look forward to reading books three and four.

I mentioned in my title of this review, that this series is not just for young people. I was a little hesitant about reading this series because of the classification of being young adult. But, after reading some of the reviews on amazon from people that were beyond teen years, I decided to start reading Twilight. I am so glad I did. Oh, by the way, I am 56 years old.

Great addition to the Harry Potter Family!

The Tales of Beedle the Bard is a great addition to the Harry Potter family. On the same level as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Quidditch Through the Ages adds in a bit more background information to the world of Harry Potter. Of the three books, I found this one the most interesting. I went into this hoping for some fables and fairy tales and that's exactly what I got. I only wish that there had been more, a nice chunky volume of tales! Now that would have been perfect!

Of the 5 stories, my favorite was The Fountain of Fair Fortune, thought they were all interesting. Enhancing the stories are Rowling's own drawings and Dumbledore's commentary. I think this is definitely a fun book for anyone that loves Harry Potter and a great introduction to the world of Harry Potter for a new reader!

Get Real

Ihate this freaking book even though I havve not even read it. This seris should be discontinued and all other copies destroyed immediately. We do not want the whole population running around spasing out because they think vampires are real. The population is bad already. proof: This seris of books was published.

NOT all it's cracked up to be

I'd give this a single star, but the creativity of the subject is enough to warrant at least two stars. Plus everyone seems to discount one-stars as vendetta reviews.

In fact, I should have listened to the 9 page one-star review that I read before buying this book for my Kindle. It is NOT worth it.

90% fluff, and the ideas themselves are weak at best.

The best chapter is the aircraft accident dissection, but even that is not related to the topic of the book, it is a "distributed cognition" subject - something better left for another book altogether. Oh wait, that has already been written, Professor Ed Hutchins' "Cognition in the Wild"

Save your time and money (I'm even going to get my $10 back from Amazon).

TERRIBLE!

I JUST FINISHED THIS BOOK AND I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED IN HOW THE AUTHOR TOOK GOD AND MADE HIM HUMAN. TOO HUMAN. IT IS ALMOST A MOCKERY THAT GOD THE FATHER IS A SOUTHERN BLACK WOMEN WHO LIKES TO MAKE FOOD IN THE KITCHEN! COME ON MAN! THAT JUST AIN'T RIGHT. GOD IS IN THE MIRACLE BUISNESS, NOT THE FOOD INDUSTRY.

WOW, Getting Teens to Read!!!

The Twilight Saga: Slipcased I ordered it for my daughter for Christmas, she heard about the books from some friends and wanted to read the books before seeing the movie. This in itself was unusual, for my daughter is not what you would call a "reader for fun"! If it must be done for school, she is all over it, but she spend her fun time in front of video games and DVD's. I myself read for fun so I was trilled that she was even interested.
After recieving the books on time, which with the demand, I was impressed by. My daughter was delighted by the gift and she started the first book the very next day. My slow reader, was finished in less than five days with 500 pages. Granted this was over the school holiday, but the point is she was engaged enough to read a book not required for school. She was excited enough to finish and recommend the book to me!
She also started on the second book and is just as engrossed in the story. THIS WAS A TERRIFIC VALUE FOR ME!!! Anything that impoves my daughters since of self,(this gave her a since of acomplishment and enjoyment as well) is of great value to any Mom! Way to go Miss. Meyer with getting teens off the couch and into not one, but four a books!!!

Loved it

I am not a big history fan, but Meacham's story of Jackson and the world around him was really interesting. If you need a present for anybody who loves presidential history, you can't do any better than this. I didn't know very much about Jackson's era, and now want to find out even more.

If you need a depressant, read this book.

I was so ready to love this book! I LOVE dogs and have had very strong, close relationships with 2. I love Wisconsin and its northwoods. I have affection for the name Edgar, a village in Wisconsin. And, yet, I would have to agree with most of the 1-star reviews. This book was a huge disappointment!!
